About YourPath

YourPath empowers individuals to navigate their unique journey with clarity and confidence, transforming uncertainty into purposeful direction.

YourPath is a personalized guidance platform designed to help users discover, plan, and achieve their goals through intuitive tools, data‑driven insights, and supportive resources tailored to their individual needs and aspirations.

Problem Statement

Many early-career professionals, especially those who are first-gen or from underrepresented communities, lack accessible, trustworthy career guidance. Resources exist, but they’re fragmented, inconsistent, and often written from a perspective that doesn’t consider their experience.

Questions & Thoughts Toward a Solution

Core Questions

  • How do we reduce overwhelm for users starting from scratch?
  • How can the platform guide someone who is unsure where to begin?
  • How do we create clarity for users with very different goals?
💡

Design Considerations

  • Use simple navigation and a step-by-step structure.
  • Break large goals into small guided tasks.
  • Use relatable stories to build confidence and trust.
📌

Early Solution Direction

  • Structured pathway that moves from exploration to action.
  • Supportive tone to reduce pressure and decision paralysis.
  • Templates and tools that make next steps feel manageable.

Research & Testing

Early feedback sessions with three participants helped validate the YourPath concept and reveal what users need to confidently act on career resources.

Who I Spoke With

Three participants at different stages of their journeys all fit YourPath’s target audience.

  • Anthony, 31 – HVAC tech shifting into project management
  • Christine, 29 – therapist starting a doula business
  • Rey, 25 – self-taught dev in a coding bootcamp

How I Ran Sessions

25–30 minute conversational “show and tell” sessions focused on resonance, not strict usability tasks.

  • 2 in-person sessions at a local coffee shop
  • 1 remote session over Zoom
  • Walkthrough of Home, Career Guide, About, and Contact pages

Key Insights

The concept and tone resonated, but people need clearer, more actionable support to move forward.

  • Want concrete next steps, timelines, and costs
  • Need filters for cost, time, and format
  • Trust grows with “verified” badges and curated picks
